Position Highlights:

• PICU:

  • Serves a vast geographic area including Missoula and surrounding communities across Montana and neighboring states.

  • 2-4-bed unit with an adjoining pediatric ward

  • Staffed with Board Certified critical care pediatricians, pediatric hospitalists and community pediatricians.

  • Academic Affiliation: University of Washington.

• Experience Required: Qualified candidates must be Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and must have prior relevant work experience

• Schedule: covering the pediatric ward patients during weekday hours and sharing in unrestricted nighttime call for pediatric intensive care patients. Heavy involvement with pediatric sedation.

  • Full time - 15 shifts/month or

  • Part-time - 7.5 shifts per month

• Hospital Rounding:

  • Subspecialty support includes 24/7 Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Anesthesiology, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, ENT, and Urology

  • Robust Level 3 NICU with Maternal-Fetal Medicine and OB services (~1,100 deliveries annually)

  • No ECMO, CRRT, or cardiac surgery

• Patient Volume: Average Daily Census of 1; cases may vary in acuity as a regional referral center
